Speaking of trades. When can we start discussing way too early NBA trade deadline ideas? Because I need the Raptors to actually pivot this year. Apparently having a roster almost solely comprised of the exact same style player is not a good idea after all.
Getting wind online about both Siakam and Anunoby being pursued by the Hawks, Kings, and Pacers as their contracts are coming to an end soon. Adding Anunoby to the Pacers could look interesting, as he can help their defense and he is also a solid piece in offense playing along side Haliburton.
That would be interesting for the Pacers. They score a ton, the D help would be huge for them.

What would the Raps be hoping to get back from those teams?

OG is a tough one because his value is high but once you trade him you are immediately looking for a 3 and D guy. You can probably get a guy who is better on the 3 side but probably not the D side so you would need to get someone who fits that profile or has the potential to grow into that player and more or why bother.

Given Toronto's abundance of athletic, defensive wings, would it be worth trading OG for an elite 3-point shooter, even if that player is a minus defender? I'm thinking about guys like Hield, Bogdonovic, and Huerter.
reply
Agreed. They have pretty good defense even without OG. They need shooting. 18% 3s the other night vs the Hornets was just sad. The Pacers have so many good shooters, it doesn't hurt them much to trade away one to get back a good defensive player.
Or get a legit starting center. Poeltl and Achiuwa are not good enough, they can't score and can't control the boards. They need a center that can score and/or control the boards; basically own the zone. Don't think Pacers have someone like that though, Turner can score but his rebounding is questionable. Not like the Pacers will trade Turner away anyways...

I don't know if anyone's going to want to part with a better center than Poetl. Is Vucevic the best center available right now?
reply
Vucevic would be a nice upgrade, but don't know what the Bulls want in return. The Bulls probably don't know what they want themselves...

I'm sure they're aware that the markets for Vuc and Levine are pretty thin.
66-64 Hawks at halftime. Raps need to step up the D in the second half. I don't see them winning a shoot out.
reply
Very nice second half. Great game by Pascal.
reply
I think that would make sense as the centrepiece of a deal.
