Boss AC - Sexta-feira (Emprego Bom Já)
---------- Friday (Good Jobs Now)
So many years studying to end up unemployed
Or in a crappy, underpaid job
And get a tip they call a salary
I didn't get my asshole degree
It's not for lack of commitment
They want me to tighten my belt, but I don't even have pants
It's halfway through the month and I'm already distressed
Oh mother, you'd make me rich instead of handsome
It's Friday
I've sweated all week
I haven't got a penny in my pocket
Someone find me a job
Good good good good
Coming soon
They bury the country and the people put up with it
But one day the bubble will burst
Word of mouth on social networks
You hear truths you don't see in the papers
Having a car is impossible
I had to sell it to get fuel
I have a train pass but today they're on strike
I need a ride, someone to take me
It's Friday
I've worked all week
I don't have a penny in my pocket
Someone get me a job
Good good good good
Coming soon
It's Friday
I want to play
But I don't have a dime
Somebody get me a job
Good good good good
Right away
Just be honest and I'll accept offers
The milfs already want to see my back
Where will I get the money for rent?
I can't even afford to rent a tent
Banks only lend to those who don't need it
They won't even lend me money to change my shirt
I'm going to play the Euromillions to see if it'll end
Today's Friday and I'll get right on it
Great tunes, guys.
For me, this classic from the 70's, endlessly sampled by hip hop dj's and artists, from The Sugarhill Gang onwards, plus Queen's Another One Bites The Dust.
Co-written by Nile Rodgers & Bernard Edwards, the tune was a deliberate call to have fun in difficult times,
"We wanted to create a song that would feel like a party, that would embody the spirit of good times, even when times were tough"
Times change, and this was pretty much the end of the Disco era as New Wave and Punk took it's place.
