I've noticed that there are indeed some hotspots globally where merchant adoption is more advanced compared to other places. I'm not referring to locations like El Salvador but rather places like Lugano or other open-minded places like in Madeira, Portugal, for example.
In our area, there are local meetups in cities where enthusiasts approach restaurant owners to encourage them to accept Bitcoin. I've found this to be a quite effective method, especially when a significant number of people express their interest in paying for meals with Bitcoin and promoting new visits.
I also believe it's essential to go through associations or similar entities to emphasize the economic benefits of Bitcoin adoption. Members of such associations often invest in staying informed about these matters, and it can be a strategic way to encourage wider acceptance.
I'm specifically talking about retail associations, hotel industry associations, etc. I see presenting to such associations as definitely worthwhile.
How's the merchant adoption in your local area? And what general initiatives are there to drive this forward?
