What do you get when you combine a bunch of classically trained musicians with a great Canadian songwriter, guitarist and vocalist?
Well, you get Big Wreck! One of the best Canadian bands ever that never got the respect they deserved.

That's really good! I'm hearing similarities to sounds like the deftones (less so the vocals) or pearl jam or even nirvana or just that general grunge sound. I really enjoyed it. I also got creed (less so the vocals) sorta, kinda, I can sorta hear mark tremonti minus the embellishments he puts in.
I'm loving your sounds of the great white north series. I'm discovering a lot of really cool things.

His vocals are closest to Chris Cornell I would say but less raspy. In terms of the band's sound: Yeah there is a lot of 90s grunge influence but they are all classically trained so the tones, structure, layering is more sophisticated and intentional and less visceral and emotive than the grunge gods.

I get ya. It's more deliberate than falling into that sound through a lack of training.
