howdy stackers,
what are pruned nodes useful for?
For those who want to take part in the lightning network without having the whole blockchain (>400 gb)
But its recommended you do. Dont trust, verify

The existence of this technology gives the possibility for people in poor countries or reusing of old tech that would land in the trash otherwise.
I have many mates that have their old laptops lying useless in a closet. Capable machines - much more powerful than a RaspBerry Pi - but only 256gb of disk space and not pleasant to use as an everyday computer anymore.

I think pruned nodes add to the network, to lower the barrier to entry and allow people to manage their own bitcoin with more privacy and more optionality. I think they are a vital part of the ecosystem, especially for parts of the developing world.
We have a core network, a lightning network, a pruned network only adds to the decentralisation
