“Being kinder to yourself” can feel like an overwhelming goal, especially if you’re used to being critical and judgmental towards yourself. But really, being kind to yourself is just choosing, in the very next moment, to be a bit more loving, gentle, caring, and compassionate.
Instead of focusing on this big end-goal, focus on your next thought or action. How can you be kinder to yourself—right now?
These small choices, day in and out, add up. They change you: over time, you will become someone who instinctively treats yourself with kindness.
Being kind to one's self is not the same as being easy on one's self. Be kind, not easy, especially if you desire growth or change.

No one wrote or suggested to "be easy". Easing things to be kinder with oneself could be the first step for growth. Change happens indistinctly, it's on us to recognize it or not.

I tried to be additive to your statement. There was no intent to take anything away or to say you implied easy. However, do you really think change happens instinctively?! Do you mean on a genetic, evolutionary timescale? Have you ever tried to get a human to change? It is very difficult even if they want to do so!

You cannot force others to change, you can just guide them to improve
