Are there any methods besides BTCPay Server and CypherPunkPay that allow you to receive donations privately without address reuse?
With pouch.ph account, you can use your static URL to generate lightning and on-chain invoices:
And they generate a custom lightning invoice
Or if you know the amount
Add to the URL and the amount is set. Visually, the amount is shown is Philippines Pesos. We gotta allow it shown in others too...

Interesting. I'll check this out. Thank you!

If you have a usecase and want to display in sats or USD, we can prioritize that. HMU

I dont have a use case other than getting tips right now, but I really appreciate the offer. Thank you!

You could use a LN address since its re-usable and generates an LN URL on payment

I think LNURL is the way to go, if you want it non-custodial, is a bit of work but possible. Custodial is as easy as download Wallet of Satoshi.

I admittedly need to learn a little more about LNURL, but may use wallet of satoshi in the mean time. Much appreciated!

You can use the Telegram bot Lntxbot. They give you a static page (https://lntxbot.com/@%5Btelegram-username]) to receivepayments. And it is also very easy to receive payments via Telegram. Users can tip you in a groups chat or you can even ask for a fee to access a groups chat you own.
You could olso use your SN LN adres (buddylasta@stacker.news) to receive payments.

Woah, lntxbot is no joke. Thank you for sharing. I need to take notes on everything you all are sharing haha

Afaik the Lightning Network is pretty anonymous - especially if you receive on an custodial account - this not even recieving with your personal onchain address.

Why is address reuse, esp. on LN, a problem for receiving donations?
Unless you want to do something like this:
Support Ukraine! Donate to 1abcdef
Support Russia! Donate to 1abcdef
I hope you're up to nothing of this sort.

It's best practices to avoid on-chain address reuse. Lightning is fine since a new invoice is generated each payment. My use case is to get donations/tips after helping newcomers learn the basics about bitcoin. I guess "tips" is the more appropriate word for my situation. I'm also genuinely curious what other donation methods are out there. Learned about Geyser earlier in this discussion :)

Lightning is indeed fine but for a different reason. Indeed, a new invoice is generated for each payment, but all of them contain your node's address because the payer must find a route to that address. So your node address is reused. But that's fine because knowing a node's address on LN gives no information about who has paid to that node.

I didn't know that, but it makes total sense.Thank you for the explanation. This is why I love Stacker News!

There's a post, shared here on SN, about PayNym:

Depending on the situation (e.g., if a bitcoin version of GoFundMe would suffice), there is Geyser:

Paynyms are great, but not ideal for the average person donating/leaving tips. I've never heard of Geyser. Will check it out. Thank you!
