I like how you highlighted the parallels between self-driving cars and Bitcoin with regard to consensus, but now I'm worried about the repercussions of a system where you can't even travel without involving an electronic system...
Many view it from the lens of control and power grabbing that we have generationally ingrained into us, and thus rightfully are worried of the repurcussions.
In all reality, however, (and the optimist in me speaking), the overall world will be "functioning" in such a drastically different way than today that driving probably won't even be a thought in everyday life. The electronic systems will likely be far better we can comprehend today. For better or worse depending on who you are, but the newer generations will care less and less about cars in general while the older generations cling to tradition. Always how it goes aint it
