Having a subdomain isn't as effective has having a subfolder on a site, a subdomain is seen more as a new site, so you don't often inherit the link equity of the primary domain
If you want to improve SEO, I'd say add things like
- Canonical tags
- Custom title and meta description options for posts and territories
- Custom open graph tagging for posts and territories
- Breadcrumbs for posts under territories
- Having posts live under the territories subfolder ie https://stacker.news/~bitcoin_beginners/cheese/post-name
- XML sitemaps per territory
- Schema for different post types
Yeah, I knew being seen as a new site had a tradeoff.
Largely being a folder, and not a subdomain, the work is down to k00b et al. I'm sure they could see that this would happen, and they're totally bright sparks, so they knew. I guess it's all part of their service.
Excellent stuff. With your website knowledge creating https://thebitcoinmanual.com you should certainly know your SEO.
