They were formed as a supergroup. Clapton had already made his name with The Yardbirds. I don't remember Bruce and Baker's old bands. Clapton of course had the most successful later career. Ginger Baker was the drummer for Blind Faith, another super group that I have to pick a track or two to play. Both Baker and Bruce have passed. Baker was a very odd individual. There is a documentary about him on Netflix, I think, which is worth a watch.
I'll definitely have to give it a go.
I'd never heard of the yardbirds. I always thought cream was Claptons rise to fame.

The Yardbirds were big. Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page (Led Zep) all played with them.

I'm very surprised my music education didn't involve them. I shall need to go back to my old man and his mates who introduced me to that era and slap em upside the head for missing the yardbirds 🤣
