Neither. The beautiful thing about a free market is that we vote with our sats. The older I get the more comfortable I am with the point of view "I don't like this, its not for me".
I don't hate amusement parks but I also do not love them. I enjoy a good coaster, animal show, and the general experience. Our family went the Disneyland a few years ago and it was so crowded it really soured me on going back. The food was pretty sub par as well. I probably won't be back. I enjoyed Universal Studios much more.

Have been many times in the past. Went for the first time with our kids and realized what a total racket it is. You buy the ticket. Then you can pay more per person for fast pass, more per person for this and that ...
Looking around the Magic Kingdom (Disney World), it is nothing more than a normal amusement park with some specific characters painted on top.

It's fake commercial trash and I love it.

Absolutely not worth the money. Even those Disney adults that have year-long passes and go every weekend complain about how many of them rides break down every time they go.
It was something grand once but it couldn't keep that when scaling.

I can't quite flesh out the analogy yet, but a Disney adult seems very similar to a functional alcoholic

I don't like Disney. As a young person I went to the Florida compound and I liked it because it was with my dad but I realized back then how much money my father in 1977 was spending and I felt like, "Well let's go ride the free rides." Back then there was a ticket system.
As an adult I've learned about the dark side of Disney and it's no good. How many married father characters are there?

I don't like crowds or lines. I love the attention to detail and scale of Disneyland. It has little to offer adults afaict.

How to love it: search "when is Disneyland the least crowded" and only visit then.
How to hate it: go when they are busiest such as around when public schools are out of session(spring break, summer, etc.) and around holidays.

Don't know about Disney land, but i did enjoy amusement parks as a kid, much less as an adult. Mostly blasé in terms of the thrills of life... part of getting older~~

I went to see the Lionking musical recently and it was not bad actually...

Woke crap. Never again.
Also young newly married couple I knew just went there, both of them were huge Disney fans.
They said never again. The lines, the expense of everything - AND - apparently somebody got close enough to them to scan their credit cards, and make charges against them. Big nightmare.

Nah, WokeLand sucks

It's a rip off but it's great for the kiddos.

It's cool. Not worth the price tho. The wait time in lines is a deal breaker to me.

I think it's funny when people hate it because it's "fake commercial trash".
No shit Sherlock. That's the whole point, not a secret. You don't sound as smart as you're trying to be. You can dislike it of course - but you're not a genius for it.

The looks on my kids faces and their memories told me all I needed to know about it. #priceless
lol we traveled there and piggybacked on my wife’s work trip so we did it in the cheap so I could stack more sats!

Went a handful of times as a kid and always had fun. Now I take my kids from time to time and we still manage to have a good time despite the crowds and expense.
While the corporation embodies some of the worst aspects of fiat greed, the creative people behind the attractions and the people who keep them going is what still makes the place special. Mixed bag like so much else in life!
What they really need is surge pricing and maybe a second park in CA to help reduce the insane crowds. Maybe a good VR experience could also help keep the crowds at bay. Limiting strollers & scooters too.
