The US government has commissioned a study on how El Salvador's adoption of bitcoin would adversely affect the US economy (lol). Mexico is in America's backyard, and is a significant trading/manufacturing/agricultural partner. Bluntly speaking, I can't see the US government idly letting the passage of such a bill happen. Will be interesting to see the vote count, who exactly for/against it, and how the vote split along party lines.
