45 sats \ 0 replies \ @justanumber 30 Jan freebie \ on: When you post/comment on SN, do you think about how many sats you will earn? meta
I will be posting what I want and zapping content I like, find useful and/or want to see more of. But I think there is a system to be gamed here and suspect there is behaviour that ends up lifting up certain posts or certain user's posts, which is reminiscent of big tech social media and, in all honesty, puts me off investing my time in posting. For example, being rewarded for zapping top posts and top comments early will inevitably lead to people trying to second guess which those posts/comment might be. This could leave decent content sitting in the doldrums with not as many zaps because it's predicted as not being worthy or "top". I very strongly suspect that is what is happening. I see people saying that if someone doesn't get zaps it's because it's not content people are interested in and I'm sure there's an element of that but I think there are other things at play here.
