Young George Harrison (15), John Lennon (18) and Paul McCartney (16) playing together as kids in 1958 before becoming The Beatles two years later.
Looking at George, he doesn't look old enough to shave. They were playing in Hamburg, Germany two years later.
It seemed that the Beatles were together for ages - they seemed perpetually on the radio. But in reality, the band only lasted ten years.
Meanwhile, their contempories, The Rolling Stones forming two years after The Beatles got their name, are still rolling 62 years later.
The Stones in 1962.
The Stones in 2023.
How do they do with all their drugs, heart attacks (and Keith being Captain Jack Sparrow's dad)?
The band claim that Mick just calls them up, says there's another tour, and they're still up for it!
They are touring North America again in 2024.
They're comfortable admitting their fan base is long in the tooth too - their official sponsors are the AARP - the American Association of Retired Persons.
Although younger than them, I wish I had even half their stamina...

Daltry and Townsend are still going too, but there are two missing and missed members of The Who.

Daltry recently said that it was all behind him.
How Keith Moon lasted as long as he did is beyond me.

For those who don't know what we're talking about, here's Keith Moon blowing up his drum kit on live TV in 1967.
Because he'd used ten times the recommended stage explosives Moon was hit by shrapnel in his arm, singer Daltry was blown from his spot and Townsend's hair stood up burning - and said it may be why he still suffers from permanent hearing loss.
Watch right to the end, enjoy!
+Bonus+
According to Daltry the band was almost arrested, the live TV series was threatened with cancelation and, in the wings, actor Bette Davis fainted).
