Quit my job: what should I start learning now?

So now I've quit after 18 months. Now there is a world of opportunities in front of me. Most compelling ideas so far are entrepreneurial, but everything is still open.

If you were in my position, what would you learn now that it is year 2024?

How long before you have to work vs how long you have time to learn?

I would work on some skills like those labeled “soft” skills are universal unless I needed “hard” skills or specific.

Thinking if I had to going from office job to physical labor job.

B2B customer acquisition, sales and marketing skills.

How long before you have to work vs how long you have time to learn?

Great question. I would like like to start earning again something in August.

My best idea so far is revolving around customer acquisition workshops. So to support that I could study more marketing, especially the modern tools that are available.

I've also some knack for content creation so I could develop my own lead magnet in the form of materials and landing page and learn things around that more. Regarding to this I could study Hubspot materials, courses and also I found out that Growth Tribe offers also one free certificate for individuals so that could be a place to start as well.

Well although that seems like best idea, I've also considered options such as learning photography or getting trained as an accountant to do something completely different. Customer acquisition as a service has been in my experience so demanding and yet not that rewarding, that idea of trying something else is enticing.

Why not skill up in what you already know (customer acquisition) and apply it to Fintech industry? You're in the same ballpark as me (copywriter) and I'm working in Fintech. It's easy to start talking to the CEOs about Bitcoin from this avenue as well.

My brother is plumber. And I appreciate all hands-on professions. Plumbing might be a bit farfetched for me thought, but I think about it.

Regarding to the construction, it would be useful to learn in some form. There may be a summer cottage renovating project starting in our family next summer, so it might be good place to start.

All of that is evergreen, and useful across whatever you decide to do going forward.

Thanks! This is and has been very interesting topic to me, will surely keep me busy for couple of decades. Perhaps now is good time to start looking for farm to buy and learn what it takes to produce quality food.

I second AI too. It’s gonna be prevalent in our lives, regardless of whether we like it or not. I think knowing how to use a few common ones like Pictory, Google Bard and Dall-E well will help you in your next job in one way or other.

I’m a teacher and learnt how to use Diffit. I’m prettt sure not many teachers know how to use it, so that’s my competitive advantage over them

I agree and I was hoping for some openers regarding to AI, skills and tools.

I've had opportunity to use some AI tools in my work previously in text and image contention creation as well as in data enrichment (tool called Clay.AI). There is a lot of potential and tools there.

From professional standpoint I've witnessed finally that AI has gone from hype what it used to be for years, to more practical solutions that can help almost every knowledge worker at least.

Thank you for mentioning also these tools, Pictory and Diffit are not familiar to me so I will check them out. Also it has been while since I tried Bard, so I might wanna explore that further as well.

I would think of the kind of lifestyle you want, and then think of the skills that can help you attain it. I really wanted to remove dependency on location from my life. I was pulling pints for a living before I learned to code. Within a year I had a remote job and never looked back.

I have also quit my job and now living and enjoying life at the fullest. All thanks to Bitcoin and Crypto. I am now earning mostly by writing, staking, providing liquidity, buying low and selling high and with Airdrops. Earning more than what my job could offer as a teacher. Yes, it's true that I work more in comparison to reaching job but I don't regret it because I now have the freedom to do it when I want. Yea, what I am doing now, I have learnt it at the same time with my job as teacher.

Crypto is meaningless nonsense. You will waste time and fiat that could be earned stacking sats. If you make money in "crypto" it is to convince people to go toward a rug pull. It's scammy fiat nonsense. Bitcoin is so vast, wide open and solid that there are plenty of places for anyone to work a stupid job that is fun and stack sats or set up your own consulting business teaching people how to use it.

I would definitely do trading especially because of the halving comes. I like it so much because I can do it from anywhere and anytime. I make my own decisions and I am the one who is responsible for my mistakes. It may be challenging at the beginning but by learning about it and understanding the market it can be very profitable. I usually do active trading and convert my profits to long term BTC holding.

If you are just trading cRyPtO you are but learning about hard money. You are just speculating on personalities and hoping not too get the rug pulled.

But you are free to invest your energy as you wish. Bitcoin is the only place that exists where more of the smartest and brightest engineers, resources, computational energy, kilowatts and tools for humanity are being built to counter Fiat. If you are not in Bitcoin 100 percent learning, working and cultivating, then you are just a person who wants dollars and you do not fully understand that the dollars are themselves a ponzi scheme.

If the pyramid on the back of the dollar bill doesn't tell you that it's a pyramid scheme then it's because you like the scheme.
