what's your beef with email?
Email is one of the few systems left that's not totally swallowed up by big corporations, that runs decentralized, and that can in theory be permissionless if you set it up yourself (with caveats, as you need to pay someone for the address, and they can cut you off, and the silo is string, as I've met young people who thought all email was gmail and who did not grasp the concept of a thunderbird login with IMAP addresses; aaah)
The alternatives with most services are usually "facebook/google/twitter/email", of course email is the best option here. I get turned off by these OTHER ones.
And like the other reply said, you can always get a bunch of mail addresses, in theory you can get as many addresses and you create logins.
Just stay off the gmail.

A surprising number of SMTP servers only support port 25 (clear text).
Therefore although the traffic from your email client to your stmp server may be secure, the actual handoff from Server A -> Server B could happen in plaintext. This means that the ISPs involved could read all your emails. (hint hint, they do!)
Having said that most "chat" platforms are owned by big-tech...and SMS is snooped by telecom....so no real privacy there either.

So yeah no real privacy

I mean, I use neither of these, and I can email just fine. Though I'm perfectly aware that 3/4 of the mails I send are backed up, without my permission, on google's servers.
