For me, it's high-quality military / outdoor clothes and backpacks- although I'm slowly starting to set my sights on Osprey in regards to the latter.
I kinda have a weak spot for the "big three", too; the "Carinthia Observer +" is my crown jewel in that regard for now...
What about you guys? Where do you really splash some cash on?!
Some friends and I used to use https://www.mysteryranch.com exclusively for a lot of our gear.
The majority of the hikers I run across like their Osprey packs. I have one as my regular daily carry pack.

Well... they certainly look enticing, but I really don't see a reason why those packs are that expensive.
I can get some pretty darn nice down sleeping bags or other UL-items for some of those price tags.

No doubt. There is a price to pay when you buy Tacticool gear from a military contractor.
I've been eyeing some ZPacks for my next load out when I have the need to.
reply
Hmm... Why exactly these packs?
They certainly have something going for them, I'm a bit skeptical in regards to the carrying system, though. Any experience with those?
reply
No direct experience. Just from my basic research and reviews, they always seem to be in the top of the lists. It will be a long time before I'm ready to purchase a new pack, and by the time I do, there will probably be newer tech and materials available by then.
