If items don't get a lot of visibility, it usually has reasons.
If a poll doesn't land on the front page, it probably wasn't interesting enough for most stackers so they didn't zap it enough.
Maybe they could be sticky for the first time a user opens the home page after the poll is posted, then drop down in the queue for that user after they vote.
What if there are many polls the user hasn't voted on yet?
Polls have a bit of a catch 22 problem; they aren't interesting without significant participation, and they don't get participation without looking like others are participating.
They are also less biased if more people are encouraged to vote, rather than only those who find the topic initially interesting.
I don't have a suggestion for a "many polls" problem. That doesn't seem to be a current problem.
I don't know-- maybe it's a bad idea.
