Over the past few months I've noticed some significant positive changes in the lightning network. Just from my end, other than bitch ass scum ass terrible node having ass Alby, my payments rarely ever go in-transit and routing fees have been noticably lower.
Prime example is Cashapp's work on their incoming and outgoing nodes to reduce the payment in transit issue and reduce routing costs. I remember it used to cost me close to 100-300 sats to send a tx from stacker.news or lightningtipbot on telegram to cashapp. Now, those same sized tx's are only costing me between 2-60 sats. Coming out of cashapp, six months ago my payment would also go into "pending" coming out of cashapp regardless of where I sent it. Sometimes it would take DAYS to fail and return to my wallet and sometimes it would go through after 15 mins to an hour. Now, my payment always sends immediately out of cashapp regardless of where it's going and shows up instantly in the receiving wallet.
I've also noticed an overall lowering of routing fees sending between other wallets as well. The most I've paid for a tx that I can remember in the past couple of weeks was 250ish sats and that was for a 300k sat transaction.
I'm very impressed with Cashapp's dedication to improving their nodes and lightning as a whole. To the devs at LND, LNBITS, and others you guys are fucking killing it and are appreciated.
