Paying off the debt obviously won't happen, and the feds won't even contemplate anything that keeps the debt from getting bigger. They'll just try to inflate the debt away, so get ready for price inflation.
I wonder if we'll see something like federal land sales to start reducing the debt burden.
What are some other strategies that don't get discussed much for bringing down the debt level while interest rates are high?
Big question is who they would sell the federal lands to. Either way, I'm not sure I'd want to live adjacent to those lands anytime soon.

It doesn't have to be one person or group. Most of the lands I'm talking about are either in DC itself or in the habitable parts of the western states.
I would hope it would just go through an auction mechanism. That would get it where it's most useful and have the largest impact on the debt.

I was thinking mostly of the western lands, but I'm sure foreign entities would love to have land in DC. I also think auction would be hoping for too much transparency, as I have zero doubt that political favoritism would be heavily involved.

Totally fair. It still might ostensibly go through an auction, but none of the competing bids are disclosed and the winners just happen to be top campaign donors.
