Apparently in my excitement about the return of baseball I forgot that Spring Training games suck.
I watched parts of a few spring training games over the weekend and I can't say that it was a good use of my time but I am happy that baseball is back, just not that there is another month of meaningless, garbage games until it is really back.
Spring Training games were not good but the UFC fight night event this weekend was quite good and there were lots of good NBA games as well.
The NFL raised it's salary cap number by 30M. Now that is good news for some teams, like the 49ers, that were going to have to make some tough decisions this offseason. NFL is such a juggernaut.
Check out @gnilma's daily NBA post. He is doing a great job recapping the highlights of the NBA day #438932
Also, we only have one entry in our NHL trade deadline contest thus far, so if you are inclined throw in a trade idea and maybe win some sats. #437533
That's all I've got for today. Need to rush off and pick up my wife and son at the airport as they are returning from Texas on the early flight this morning. Should be back on in the late afternoon.
Sats for all, GR
I wonder if the Chiefs will be able to retain Jones and Sneed, then. I was hoping the Raiders would be able to poach Jones. Thanks to Jimmy G's doping suspension, we've got an extra $11 mil to spend, because he forfeited his roster bonus.
If the niners run it back next season, what's their plan to actually beat the Chiefs this time?
reply
Yes, this is the one drawback, while it is good and 49ers can retain all their guys so can the other elite teams. Just wait until Brandon Staley (yikes) is out DC, we will be unstoppable.
reply
So, your hope for beating the Chiefs next year is bringing on a coach who's lost to the Chiefs twice a year for the past four years?
reply
Yes, clearly between him and Shanahan, who has lost to the Chiefs the last 4 times they played now, they are due for a victory. Chiefs can't keep getting lucky forever.
reply
Ahh, it's a double negative strategy. Smart.
reply
Thanks for the mention.
