One of the defining tunes of the '80's, just sums it up right there. For me anyway.
One of the top Radio 1 DJ's of the time had this track as the opening tune to their show. Could have been Gary Davies, Simon Mayo. It just lived on and on, as you heard it on a daily basis.
I always get ABC and Spandau Ballet mixed up. I for a long time thought SB had done this.

I also get those two mixed up as I thought Gold was ABC 🤣. Cracking track. I feel like it might've been Simon mayo, but I could be wrong. Speaking of radio DJs did you hear Steve Wright passed away ☹️ really sad, absolute voice of a generation.

Yes, very sad to hear of Steve's passing. He was a part of generations of lives, he'll definitely be missed.

I've not played the video and already I've got this, and their other songs, in my head.

Brainworm stuff - but good brainworm stuff.

Takes the mere mention before your strolling down the street going "shoot that poison arrow through my heeeeeaaaaarrrrttt" 🤣

Definitely the sound of that era. Similar to Frankie goes to Hollywood and Duran Duran. The "New Romance" era of the late 80s definitely had a type.

Not a bad type though. But I can't say I dislike music from any era.
