I'm just so excited about this that I had to post it someplace, even though it has basically nothing to do with anything.
I'm not the kind of person who gets grumpy when TV / movie adaptations aren't true to the source material, or pick a different aesthetic (e.g., LOTR comic book guys) but I admit to some trepidation on how Neuromancer could be realized.
Still, super excited, on net.

I'm cautiously optimistic right now, it seems Apple can make some pretty good sci-fi. For All Mankind is one of my favorite modern shows.

My favorite part of that show was showing how space programs can cause tech acceleration/spinoffs.

I've got a little buffer of sats now and I can start zapping back!
I really liked that as well, it's amazing how many things we use today came about because of the moon race all those years ago. It's also a little bittersweet when you start thinking about where we could be now if the real timeline was a little closer to the show.

I don't think about enough but it makes me pretty certain we could create more spinoff effects by simply doing more ambitious things. I'm not sure we could recreate the urgency or justify the same level of spending, but there's something there.

I think so too. I guess we'll see if Artemis and the Mars projects give us anything exciting!

Three body problem looks amazing too.

Judging off Masters of the Air or Foundation, Apple is better equipped for this than, say, Amazon. Thank your lucky stars it's not Amazon 👀

I found the book’s postmodern prose to be tedious.
Definitely be interested in an on-screen adaptation. Need something to watch when I “jack into the matrix” in the evenings.
