I'm naturally on the skinnier / leaner side of the spectrum, and thus, had a phase in which I was hell-bent on bulking up.
I lasted approximately a year and gained around 15 kilo's, after which I got burnt out by having to count calories, macro's and prep meals each day.
I ate every 2 - 2.5 hrs a normal-sized meal, which conditioned my body to be hungry pretty much All. The. Time. During the last weeks I've actually woke up to my stomach growling, which made me get up and eat at 2 O'Clock in the morning after eating the whole friggin' day!
And you know what? It actually was worth it to me at the time, but the thing that made me quit was that I simply couldn't eat more; I couldn't fit more calories into my routine responsibly- 4000 - 4.500 Kcal a day was where I plateau'd at.
I started reducing my caloric intake, and absolutely crashed in terms of weight, and from there on I said "fuck it", this ain't worth it anymore.
What about you guys? Anyone who does this for a living?
