At the workplace, Sensei is also a gem of positivity. He already shared the following quote with two colleagues to persevere them to carry on when they expressed thoughts about not doing enough:
Which gave me the idea for this post. What is something you are doing better these days because you know better?
After chewing on my question, I think I am doing great at not smacking my child lol. A couple of years ago, I smacked him on the wrist because he was slow to change clothes and I was getting impatient and frustrated.
He stood rooted to the ground and waited for me to change his clothes. Then he went straight to my wife and reported against me.
Since then, I have effectively stopped using all forms of beating.
But I don’t stop because I am scared that my son will complain again to my wife lol. I read somewhere that children model after their parents. So I don’t want my boy to hit his sister in times of frustration and say that he is copying me.
In my defence, my mum used to cane me growing up. I still remember hiding under the bed while she tried desperately to reach me. I also remember going to school the next day and having my classmates ask me about my cane marks. Fun times! So I never thought caning was something to be avoided. Of course, now I know better.
Over to you.

I had a similar experience with parenting, discovering I was modeling without doing my own thinking.
