With Alby, there is no need for a separate desktop lightning wallet. An a browser extension, it is quite superior to a desktop wallet with its ability to respond to uri clicks. It also only uses local storage for your wallet information, so if you're self hosting there is little need to be concerned about your ln data on someone else's server. This version closes the last gap between most wallets and Alby by adding a convenient real-time fiat conversion alongside the displayed balance of sats. There are many other improvements, but this is the one I've most been waiting for.
