Wanna know what mental illness is? People who believe in a big imaginary friend in the sky that they need to "serve" to give their life purpose.

the worst thing about this mental illness is that it is cultivated by the media and exploited politically to further divide society. in this way, the obvious freak show is elevated to the norm.

I didn't particularly want to reopen this irritating discussion, but gender dysphoria (trans identification) is a recognized illness in the DSM-5. The fact that it is considered an illness is what allows the state to use the Americans with Disabilities Act on behalf of trans people.
To my knowledge, belief in god and transphobia are not officially recognized mental disorders.

Not true. At all. It's the non discrimination act which makes it illegal to discriminated against members of the LGBTQIA community in the workplace and by housing authorities/landlords.
And believing in God should be considered a mental illness.
