@moneyball: How should @stacker_news integrate with nostr?
@fiatjaf: I've been trying to convince @k00b for years! I think it would be a great fit. Just move the entire Stacker News content to a custom Nostr relay, make the default client talk primarily to that relay -- but configurable. Then add some extra proprietary quirks on top.

: The main point is that it would be interoperable with the external Nostr network. Other people would be able to comment on Stacker News content from outside, and vice-versa.

: If Stacker News link posts were made like https://nostr-comments.web.app https://github.com/saiy2k/nostr-comments-widget-react then people would be able to comment from normal twitter-like clients even.
@dksf: in a noisy world Stacker News would provide a lot of signal
@nvk: Don’t stop there, add cashu tokens or LN self hosted instead of IOUs.

Seems like we're mostly only missing the ability from nostr > SN since SN > nostr already works (but still room for improvement as always)
No need to rebuild SN on nostr in that case. I don't see why you need to run a nostr relay if you just want to integrate / be interoperable with nostr:

missing the ability from nostr > SN
I honestly would not suggest that. SN it's nice because does not have all that noise. But it will be really cool to have a full working SN > nostr integration

Because you want still people to pay Xsats for posting and commenting, if SN own and manage a relay I think it would be possible. So keep what's generated inside Sn in the SN relay, but also enable to be broadcasted in the network.
