Ingredients:
200g (1 cup) unsalted butter, softened 200g (1 cup) granulated sugar 4 large eggs 200g (1⅔ cups) all-purpose flour 2 tsp baking powder 1 tsp vanilla extract 4 tbsp milk
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour two 8-inch round cake pans. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift the flour and baking powder into the bowl. Mix until well combined. Stir in the vanilla extract. Gradually add the milk, mixing until the batter is smooth. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Turn the cakes out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Frosting (Optional):
You can frost your cake with buttercream, cream cheese frosting, or any other favorite frosting. Decorate with sprinkles, fresh fruit, or edible flowers!
