Winner Winner
I would like to say I successfully kept track of all the NFL transactions yesterday, but I did not. It was a lot of action. The NFL never ceases to amaze in their ability to always have something relevant going on for the media and public to focus on.
A lot of re-signings but also a lot of players moving to new teams and a couple trades too. We might need to the dust to settle on free agency and the draft to determine which teams got a lot better but I like what the Falcons and Texans have done so far.
How about King Henry to the Ravens? That's going to be an impressive and versatile running game with Henry and Jackson. But Patrick Queen is a huge loss for them on the defensive side of the ball.
I like what the 49ers have done to improve at edge but they are weak at DT now losing Armstead and Kinlaw and still need to improve the OLine.
How are you guys feeling about what your teams have done so far? And which teams do you think have come out as winners so far?
Sats for all, GR
I use two apps for my NFL news tracking.
Sleeper. Which also does MLB, NHL and NBA And fantasy life, which I think does MLB and NBA aswell as the NFL.
Push notification alerts on everything. But god damn is my phone filled with notifications when I wake up... Free agency is crazy.

Hurt to see Tre white and Mitch Morse get cut from the bills.
Glad to see Von take a pay cut.
Overall I’m okay with buffalo’s moves.
reply
I really hope we get tre. He's an immediate upgrade at corner for us.

Well, I'm kind of hoping your trash (Kinlaw) turns out to be our treasure, but I can't say the Jets signings are blowing me away yet. I feel like the Eagles are close to winners so far, but it's early.

I don't think he is trash. He has never fulfilled his first round promise but he has looked good at times and awful at others. He was better this year and pretty good in the playoffs. I think he can be useful as a rotational piece.

True -- I do sometimes default to sports talk hyperbole. I've seen more than a few high draft picks turn it around after missing the first time (that one great season Geno Smith gave the Seahawks was pretty incredible), and it's honestly one of my favorite football stories when it happens (ditto UFAs -- see Huff getting his payday, or folks like Wayne Chrebet and Wesley Welker).

Pairing Christian Wilkins with Maxx Crosby has to be one of the biggest improvements of free agency.
I can't say the same for signing Gardner Minshew. I guess they like mustachioed QB's (what does that mean for the draft?). I don't dislike Minshew, but he's not moving the needle much.
reply
Yes Wilkins and Crosby are going to be a handful. You know Raiders had to add Minshew after Crosby trash talking him went viral. "Little ass boy" is a great backup QB and a serviceable starter.

Welcome to the Sam Darnold era @Public_N_M_E. He has a big arm. I suggest you just have Jefferson and Addison run 50 yards down the field every play and hope for the best.

Tbf if I was playing QB for the vikings... I could do worse than "F it #18 or #3, down there somewhere" 🤣 makes for entertaining viewing.
It's 1 year deal aswell... So I'm hoping this era is either really short... Or darnold finally pans out on his draft pedigree and we did manage to find a diamond.
