I would like to find more unapologetic businesses who don't bow down to governments, like rumble, so i can support it. If you know it, post it.
This was Chris Pavlovski response to Brazil's censorship attempt:
“Recently, the Brazilian courts demanded that we remove certain creators from Rumble. As part of our mission to restore a free and open internet, we have committed not to move the goalposts on our content policies”
“Users with unpopular views are free to access our platform on the same terms as our millions of other users. Accordingly, we have decided to disable access to Rumble for users in Brazil while we challenge the legality of the Brazilian courts’ demands.” https://image.nostr.build/a1a11ca67e535800305b8b81930440672c046759444b5d7d4bb4a4618daad053.jpg

The business entity is a leveragable institution that too often ends up in the hands of those who will gain or avoid loss by doing a government or other bad actor's bidding. The future is individuals and protocols.
The ones that really take a stand are few and far between. Once they get big enough to be of any threat, there are many tools at the disposal of evil to pressure them.
That said, they do exist and I'm also interested in hearing about the ones that can be documented to put their money where their mouth is.
Some of the bitcoin hardware companies perhaps, though I'm not the right person to audit them. Some of the linux hardware companies. Some of the privacy tools companies. FOSS adjacent endeavors. Gun shops. Family owned businesses. Farmers market and artisan types. Some independent label or totally self-labeled musicians.

I recommend the Mullvad.net VPN service, they don't kow-tow or bow down to governments and prioritize enabling as much privacy as possible. They're fully running in RAM and aren't logging data. They got raided by the agencies in Sweden, but didn't have any data to turn over. They're working on a technical solution to prove their software configuration - to make it possible for external parties to audit and make sure they don't save data.
They support payment by Bitcoin and if you have left-over fiat - it's possible to mail it to them physically if that's you're cup of tea.
The founders are great down to earth people and the main founder is libertarian.
I'm not affiliated, but am a long-time customer and a happy one at that.

All rumble has really done is denied all brazilians all their content, than just some of their content, suggesting they would also do the same in the USA if the USA went after them in a similar manner.
Under what cirumstances would they refuse an illegal government dictate?

Brazilians can still access rumble through simple user friendly methods, and now, Rumble wont generate any revenue for Brazilian govt. to steal part of.
