As far as I can tell, zaps on SN are anonymous. I like it this way. But it means you don't really know where the zaps are coming from on any given post or comment. How do you feel about it?

Like GR, I have also come to learn the zapping habits of a few stackers. But I think it’s nice to remain anonymous. If you want to send a stacker sats, you can do it via their lightning address and include a message

For the most part I have a pretty good idea who is zapping me when I do sports posts. When I do other posts I don't always know but don't need to know and appreciate the zaps nonetheless.

It's funny: I often zap sports post because they usually are popular...don't think I've ever made a comment on one because sports really aren't my thing. Do you really know who is zapping them?

I definitely don't know every person that is zapping them but I have a good idea who the regular zappers are and their typical zap amounts. It's less clear when they do really well and get near the top of the hot or top posts because then as you point out a lot of people just zap because they are on the main page.

Keep it up! It would also be interesting to try setting all the stackers as anonymous. This would eliminate the bias factor.

Do you mean when someone who has stacker in hiding set on their profile, their comments and posts should show up as coming from stacker in hiding or maybe anon?

They could still earn the sats, but everything they do on the site gets attributed to anon ...

No, the sats still goes to them not to the "anon" general one. Anon is anon. Stacker in hiding is still a stacker.

Its not a bad idea. There should be some sort of cost for hiding.

Although, outside the context of million sat madness I don't think it changes as much.

i like the idea of being able to opt-in to letting someone know if i’ve zapped them, kind of like how LinkedIn allows you to browse profiles privately or you can expose your username so people see “X person just viewed your profile”

I think leave it up to the user. If the user wants to be be publicly known they can opt in but default it should stay anon

So, basically giving away by announcing isn't a good idea at all. SN is the best place that is serving the purpose. Let it be as it is.
