I believe that it is completely unnecessary to consider protein intake or any macros for that matter. I eat what feels good in my body and I feel great and I am strong as hell. No need for me to count anything.
Yea, I'm in the same camp now. But starting off I did find it helpful to keep track to have a general idea of how much of what I was eating and then improving it from there. Now I have a better feel for how much I need of what to feel great on a consistent basis.
