Hello Sports Stackers!
It's here!
i've put together the basics of the Stacker Sports SN Fantasy NFL League! i've currently got it set at 32 participants (the max) but once the league is ready to draft, entry will be closed, i hope to achieve a decent sized league but it is quite important that we have an equal number of teams.
Everyone of all skill/experience levels are welcome to join the league, i intend to maintain a friendly and light hearted atmosphere with a competitive element. This is for fun and to interact with you stacking buddies.
Please follow this link to join the league. you will need to create a sleeper account if you don't already have one. https://sleeper.com/i/YEJq0V24MP2O
My advice would be to do a few mock drafts, get used to the layout of the sleeper app and come up with the best team name. i look forward to having a blast with all the participants!
Lets Go!

Wait, am I doing this or no I forget?
reply
You said maybe 🤣🤣 but we could definitely make it a maybe yes?? If @siggy47 chooses to join, with you aswell Bellzer that's 8 and that's a decent size for a fun league.
reply
Interesting betting on the app too. Surprised the betting is available in TX
reply
I haven't tried it personally. But I do find the money lines helpful when tryna make start em sit em decisions.
I'm assuming Texas has some really tight gambling laws?
reply
The weird thing about Texas is that sports betting is illegal for betting on teams / money line but it seems you can bet on player stats. Like draftkings is good and this sleeper app has a bunch of player stat over unders for parlay betting

i'm in. glad we're doing this, my regular league kinda fell apart a couple years ago, so it'll be nice playing again.
so is this a money league? has there been any discussion on buy-in's and the like, or are we just going to be forced to make side bets on sn? because i'll play either way, but i'd rather play for money
reply
considering most of the stackers who showed interest also expressed their inexperience i thought it best to keep it For Fun Only. but that absolutely doesnt prohibit individual stackers from placing a jellybean or two on the outcomes of individual matchups. but those wagers will be kept between those stackers. for at least the first year it'll be a free league, after that, we can absolutely discuss buyins and have a BTC prizepot or something to compete for.

fair enough

@tnuts420 do i see the makings of a rivalry already 🤣🤣
reply
oh you better believe it buddy. we haven't even drafted yet, and it is already most decidedly on. it's on like donkey kong
reply
oh yeah, we got ourselves a stew going. this is going to be a wicked season. dont forget we did renew our 10ksats on the outcome of the NFC North already.
reply
don't you worry sir, i would never forget i also win money when the vikings choke this season. it's almost tradition at this point
reply
you got lucky last season. kirk and jefferson getting hurt was an unrecoverable blow for us. and cmon lets be real the bears or packers aren't going to win.
reply
NFC North might be the best division in football this season. I think the Bears will be much improved but probably find a way to screw it up. Pack is good. Lions are good. If Vikings can manage to hold it together it could be quite a season.
reply
i think the bears will probably find a way to screw it up and likely ruin caleb williams career the way they did justin fields. the pack... are following the same trajectory as the lions, young and show potential, lets see if they can take another step forward. the lions i kinda expect to take a step back, there were a lot of games where mistakes were covered up by luck, a bit like the vikings 2022 season honestly. and the vikings will do the same thing we always do... show promise, get hype, go to the wild card, win in some crazy fashion and then get blown out in the divisional. it is just the cycle of a vikings fan. hype -> belief -> disappointment -> back to hype.

I hope Vikings are drafting a QB
I'm in! First time I've done a fantasy league in six or seven years, I think.
reply

reply
Alright, I'm in.

i am really excited for this. i'm hoping to be able to put together a weekly report as a blog post in stacker_sports to go with the league activity. talk about trades when they happen, free agent acquisitions etc etc etc. it's going to be a blast.
reply
I'm excited too. I've only done fantasy once and it was several years ago. My wife and I won a family league as a team, but the league didn't continue.
reply
get your wife on board. i'm in a few leagues and although i do compete in some really competitive leagues, mostly i just enjoy the for fun leagues. new players aren't something to take advantage of, they're people to coach and help along. i'm here to provide a fun environment not sap peoples enjoyment out of a game. taking advantage of people isn't my MO. i just want to have a good time and talk nonsense with like minded individuals.
what i'm getting at is if she's interested but put off at the idea of being a target for more experienced players (and this goes for anyone else reading this). not on my watch.
reply
I promise she's not going to be interested. It was a bit of a carry job to win that championship.
reply
haha! thems be fighting words! you gotta go through me to win this championship this time 😉
