The relief provided by SN from the idiocy and toxicity of Bitcoin Twitter is, of course, welcome. However, the way the incentives are set up on SN (ability to earn significant amounts of sats, prevention of spam, ad-free experience, etc) - the only logical conclusion is the influx of more normie content.

Ideally, this content will be higher quality than what we see on other social media due to the cost to post or comment. How do y'all feel about this?

Net positive? Neutral? Or do you foresee competitors to SN attracting normies?

I would like to see a few red, blue, yellow, green, etc. (Like how social media has segmented by ideology) political websites based on the SN codebase and see what happens. Adding money to the social media addiction spiral could be very popular.

Post and discuss anything you like. The free-market will tell you how much it values what you share.

Some people will feel incentivized to post whatever to try to earn sats, but I think the top rated threads will be bitcoin and bitcoin adjacent for the most part for the foreseeable future. Personally, the Daily Discussion threads is where I try to contain anything that isn't bitcoin related (i.e., asking people what their favorite music albums of 2022 so far we're).

I would love a normie SN that's like reddit, but not on this SN right now, which should be 100% bitcoin focused.

via subs (like Reddit), or not (like Hacker News)?
