The collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge just seems to me to be a symbol of US crumbling infrastructure as well as a horrible tragedy. For many years I drove the I-95 corridor. That route is the only alternative to I-95 around Baltimore. It's also the beltway serving the suburbs. This is going to have a bigger effect on the northeast US than people might imagine.
That's crazy. The story is just that it was accidentally struck by a boat?

I was watching the news. Apparently the barge seemed to lose power before it struck the bridge. The crew may have lost the ability to steer.

Yeah my heart hurts for those involved today.

Tragedy. My feelings are stronger because I have driven over that bridge so many times. It's human nature to empathize more when you imagine yourself experiencing it.

Were there any cars on the bridge when it collapsed?
