I am having trouble posting a picture for my profile. It just appears black to me, is it there? Is there a format I should use?

Yes, it's appearing black for me either.
I'm not sure for all the supported formats but regular jpeg, jpg or png would be fine

I ended up saving my photos from my Samsung through a different editor and that worked. Thanks
