LN still works fine. Maybe even better than ever.

However, I think its pretty clear that the dream of millions of self-custody nodes isn't going to happen. Managing liquidity and routing is too complex and costly for average person.

In the end I think LN is going to be mostly used in a custodial format for users and used as an "interconnect / bridge" technology between services and layers.
