Hello and been a while. Well today just wanted to open up the discussion of terpenes. I have been extracting terpenes for over 5 years now and it has been very interesting. Ive been able to average about 15 to 20% pure terpenes from plant material. I find being able to extract and use terpenes has enhanced many products and allowed me to create complex blends to address certain health concerns. Right now my favorite is using it in chocolate and having an amazing flavor and affect on the body. Also 100% I only extract terpenes from Cannabis material and not using other plant sources.

What effects do you experience from terpenes? Which terpenes are you hoping to extract when you extract them?
reply
Better flavors and effects based on the combinations you choose. Just like aroma therapy or like how some essential oils have benefits. I want to get every type of terppene when I extract.

What is your method of extraction?

Why not use other plant sources? Terps from cannabis aren't magical; they're just chemicals, and you could potentially procure them for much cheaper from other plants.

  1. Has to be vertically integrated so we have to make all our inputs
  2. You are not allowed to use value added products (like terps from other sources in products)
  3. Unless you know the source your getting terpenes from they can be low quality or not even close to the named terp.
  4. Not every single terpene is available in the market

What is your preferred Terpene for pain? I know that Terps don’t always affect everyone the same, so I’m curious what you like to use personally?
reply
Myrcene is probably the headiest terp and helps with pain and relaxation. Pinene also helps with inflammation.
