✝️ Amanda Richmond Rogers ✝️ Woman enters frozen river to save dog and dies hugging the animal 😭
Amanda had been missing since December 23, 2023. At the time, she entered the icy river near Anchorage, Alaska, in the United States, after Groot, her pet, fell into the river.
After three months of searching, Richmond's body was found on March 24, with the nurse hugging the animal. The information comes from her sister, Jennifer Richmond, in a report to KTUU
On the day of the accident, Amanda was walking with her husband, Brian, when Groot fell into the river while trying to drink water. After the animal disappeared into the icy waters, Brian dived to try to rescue the dog, but was unable to do so. Then, Amanda also dived and did not return.

Horrible tragedy. I am a dog lover, but I wish she would have not made that rash decision.

Is Anchorage that dangerous of a place? Heard similar stories when I was growing up about Alaska.
