As of Monday morning, it looks like @otteroooo’s account was removed after their recent posts that stirred up lots of controversy over Kucoin’s financials. According to @otteroooo, a whistleblower had contacted them and shared that Kucoin was technically already or soon to be insolvent. The company issued a public response, and soon after the account was removed from Twitter entirely.
  • Does anyone think this was Twitter intervening to ban @otteroooo?
  • Was there merit to the warnings about Kucoin?
  • Could Kucoin have contacted Twitter to remove the account?
  • What precedent does this set for Twitter whistleblowers in the crypto space?
The Tweet about KuCoin is still available, archived in the link shared in this post:

Legend, thank you! There were rumors that perhaps @otteroooo tried selling their account and was spreading FUD to help their own short positions. Not sure what to think on this yet
