According to Statista Consumer Insights, 64 percent of U.S. sports fans aged 55 to 64 follow baseball, while just 43 percent of thoses aged 25 to 34 and 34 percent of 18 to 24-year-olds do the same. While American football is still the clear number 1 among sports fans above the age of 25, basketball has surpassed it in popularity among 18 to 24-year-olds.

I have a friend who is a rabid dodgers fan and he is 36.
He played baseball in high school and coaches little league
But he is not the norm

So you confirm that older people are the ones who enjoy baseball the most, maybe it's because the younger generations play baseball less in the US or in general?

I can say opposite about football. When I was teen football was everything what I want, I knew all players, rules, watched every match. Later on I got new obsessions and forget about football

I'm still a big baseball fan, but the game itself is a lot different than it used to be. I prefer watching high school/college players and minor league games more than MLB. Most of the players are at least playing hard at that level.
One thing that would really get me excited for the game is the return of small ball. I think I'm probably an outlier in that I don't care for home runs that much. I'd much rather see base hits and stolen bases any day.

I used to watch baseball and basketball but lost interest as I got older. In some ways the game is more interesting with analytics.
I watch football because most games are on Sunday and there are survivor pools and other betting games. I don’t play fantasy.
American football has 17 games plus playoffs. Basketball and baseball have too many games. When I was a student these games were great for procrastinating homework etc.
