A classic weekend relaxing song. We always seem to play his greatest hits album on a weekend πŸ˜„
reply
I was never that familiar with him for some reason, even though I enjoy Motown. I found it a couple of years ago and now I love the song!

Fantastic track. Lionel Richie is an absolute legend
reply
He certainly is. The most relaxing and enjoyable breakup song I've ever heard!

Oooooo that's really funny! Loved it.
Great track DotNet πŸ‘Š

I still love Linkin Park.

Chester will always be a hero of my teens. And Shinoda is actually a bit of a musical mastermind, he's really really good on all the other projects I've heard him in. And the stuff he produces is awesome too. The whole band were very talented. But the Linkin park sound was very much spearheaded by Chester's vocals. They pioneered Nu Metal, and paved the way for rap to become more common in metal. They pushed boundaries and I loved it, hybrid theory is up there in my list of all time most influencial albums.
reply
Yeah. Great band. I saw them at ozzfest in '99 I think and fell in love right away. And the messages of their music only has grown on me I over time. Chester is my soul brother. Another sensitive soul that got a little to close to the sun. RIP.

I really liked your post earlier btw. I had to think really really hard about which songs really answered your question. Citizen soldier I've only just recently discovered. A musician that writes from the experience of being a professional psychologist. I'll bet he's got a lot of material to draw from.
reply
Thanks. I live learning about new music and I don't have algos in my life so I appreciate the recommendations.
reply
No worries πŸ‘Š. The problem with algos on Spotify or YouTube music, is they just show you more of the same stuff you already like, same genres, new bands sometimes but same styles. The amount of new genres I've found and enjoyed since doing the dailies has been awesome. And the weeklies too. So much variety.
reply
For sure. The older I get the more I open up to new genres. When I was a kid, it was 90s white kid rock music ONLY. Everything else was stupid. Turns out I was just kind of stupid.

Speaking of cash. I said to my wife after doing deadlifts.
"I hurt myself, today"
She said "I didn't know you liked Johnny cash"
I said, "ya mean nine inch nails?"
It was extremely entertaining to watch her realise cashs was a cover 🀣🀣
Ring of Fires a great track, cheers for dropping it in today kontext πŸ‘Š
reply
Now you made me listen to both versions again! I like them both, and it's amazing how the song almost has a different meaning between the two versions.
reply
Yep, I love a different artists interpretation of the same lyrics and notes. Cash's feels very raw. Both bring something different and unique to the track, I wouldn't say one was better than the other.
reply
Johnny always liked that more raw sound, even with his band. I would have a hard time choosing as well, it depends on my mood.
reply
I had a good mess about with the wife in the car about it, she prefers the cash version and I kept getting her to say "I prefer the original" and then I'd correct her again that it's a NIN track. Just a little tease to pass the time whilst off out to another national trust for the day.
reply
Sounds like fun! My wife and I go back and forth with things like that sometimes.

fresh indie dance / wave
reply
I'm really enjoying these indie dance wave things you've been posting. Not my usual go to sound, so it's been really fun to experience something I wouldn't normally find.
reply
These girls sound a lot like Crystal Castles, but more positive.
reply
Well now I need to go find out who crystal castles are. Never mind snow strippers we're going for snowball effect 🀣 always fun how one thing leads to another

Chambao is a flamenco-electronic band originally from MΓ‘laga, Spain, active in its first period from 2002 to 2018 and with a return announced for 2023. They're known for a Flamenco Chill sound that fuses flamenco sounds and palos with electronic music. The name of the band is taken from an improvised form of beach tent that is constructed as a means of sheltering from the wind and sun.
reply
This was really cool, I love those flamenco traditional sounds mixed with the electronic music. It's got a real salsa party feel. Great track πŸ‘Š

New release from Within Temptation!

I like it! Nice and heavy but still keeping that symphonic sound.
