OMG! Thanks! You reminded me one of my most favourite writers of modern era. I used to read him a lot. My favourite is the same 'We As Organism.'
I believe a bunch of the narrative was taken from that lecture, but other elements are cobbled together, too. You might know more about that.
The funny related thing, for me, is that Alan Watts is one of the candidates for people with the best voices of all time. I love listening to him talk. I wonder how much of his appeal comes from that? Like, would he be only half as possible with a normal voice?
