I'm doing some research about living in Portugal, it supposed to be a good place for bitcoiners due to the tax system and an affordable cost of living.
BUT, I'm here with two examples.
First, in Spain I have internet and two mobile phones for €45 a month. The cheapest option in Portugal is about €69.
The second example is on the pictures, same product, same store but different markets.
The gas/petrol is cheaper in Spain, the VAT is lower in Spain...
Is the only advantage in Portugal the tax system?
Every place will be different. The main thing is, it might be cheapers in some aspects of life. Housing, food, these things might be cheap. But if you stay at one place long enough, your complacency catches up to you.

You're right, people living near the border often go to Spain to fill up their cars and buy gas bottles. I can't compare all the prices directly, though. You have to consider housing, food, and transportation costs as well. These prices vary greatly depending on the area you're in, especially housing. There's nothing like going there yourself and seeing it with your own eyes.

partially correct: affordable cost of living - yes; tax system - depends on your work and are you just going to live there.
Portuguese food is great, and one hack for you - go to explore on the ground or talk to locals cc @0xbitcoiner

The food in Spain is great as well, I'm not a big fan of cod,so if you take cod of the table the options reduce a lot....;)
I'll go there soon and do some cost of living research.
