Well, in my experience, the most reliant way has been to simply shout "ALTCOINS" as loud as I can.

The one's that start losing their shit most likely own some bitcoin.

ahaha! I don't I want to prove if someone else own bitcoin, I don't give a crap. is the other way around

Through LN ?

maybe? how?

reply

I was thinking of a solution like grayruby described.

reply

Why would you want to do that?

reply

Good question! Just wondering :)

At first I thought you were asking about ownership of a UTXO. When would you need to prove ownership of an undetermined amount of bitcoin?

I can see needing to confirm ownership of a specific amount. You could use a blinded party that would know and confirm but this isn't trustless

reply

Yes correct, it's about proving ownership of a UTXO without disclosing the amount. What do you mean for blinded party?

reply

I can zap you 1 sat. Doesn't prove I still own it as I might have only had 1 sat but I think we can infer almost all people who own bitcoin own more than 1 sat.

reply

That's a good strategy, but if you send 1 sat, the other party will don't know if you really own it of if you have only access to a custodian.
