They really seem to be doubling down on denial after all this disclosure talk.
Here's the dumbest take in the article:

There's so much wrong with this statement, I think it speaks for itself.

There were, and currently are, programs to study UAP/UFO, AATIP was one. According to Eric W Davis, it's still operating just under a different name.
I don't want to shit on this guy too bad because I feel bad for people like him to a degree, but as a "scientist", you should be adapting to new evidence. I think he's trying to deal with his life's work possibly being totally wrong, as are many scientists around the world.
