I've read a bit of the FAQ on the Ordinals website and as I'm gathering it it's an external system that gives labels to each sat in a block? It then tracks that external numbers which gives them "rarity" for some reason.
Is that all that it is? An external numbering scheme being tracked externally of the Bitcoin system?

I can’t stand that Bitcoin Magazine is giving oxygen to this ordinal bullshit. There are no epic sats.
The more that larger publications write about this delusional nonsense the more people actually believe this trash is part of Bitcoin, which it isn’t.
You can’t track individual sats. A number is just an int, not a collection of numbers. You can’t distinguish the individual sum components of a number.
Do people understand how computers store and handle integer addition and subtraction?
