TIL "terimah kasih" is "thank you" in Indonesian, the literal translation of which is "to accept love" and I think that's just unbelievably cute
There are a few other Indonesian etymologies I really like:
Orangutan (one of the few words English borrowed) Orang=person hutan=Forest. Person of the forest. Matahari = Sun, Mata=eye. Hari=Day. Eye of the day.

Thats is cool! Thanks for sharing. I'm surprised they don't use "matahari" for Sunday then as well? BTW Sunday in my native Estonian is "pühapäev" which in literal translation means "holy day"

The cuteness continues when the other person says sama sama which means same same whenever you say terima kasih 😀
