Finally! The day has arrived! I am here to announce a Survivor Pool for my favourite sports on SN ~Stacker_sports.
So, I wecome every stacker to join the pool with love for Cricket.
To remind you all, it's happening in US and the Carrebians.
The countdown to this star-studded championship has already begun and will see the participation of teams like West Indies, USA, India, Pakistan, England, Australia, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, and more. Here are a few details about the tournament just to serve the context:

Men's T20 World Cup 2024 schedule and start date

The 2024 Men's T20 World Cup starts on 2 June at 01:30 BST with hosts United States facing Canada in Texas.
Games are also taking place in the Caribbean, so there are matches overnight in the UK (00:30 or 01:30) and then the afternoon (15:30, 16:30, 18:00 or 20:00).
The initial 20-team group stage, that sees four groups of five, continues until 18 June with at least one game every day, but often two or three.
The Super 8s follow with two games most days until 25 June, before both semi-finals on 27 June.
The final is on Saturday, 29 June at 15:30 BST in Barbados.

What is the format for the 2024 Men's T20 World Cup?

The 2024 Men's T20 World Cup is the biggest yet with 20 sides taking part and there's a return to an old format.
All of the teams are involved from the off in an initial group stage, with each side playing four games and the top two progressing to the Super 8s.
The Super 8s, which will take place solely in the Caribbean, will consist of two groups of four, with eight sides (India, Pakistan, Australia, England, New Zealand, West Indies, South Africa and Sri Lanka) seeded to help with the planning and schedule for that stage.
In the Super 8s, the top two teams progress to the semi-finals with the winner of each group facing the runner-up in the other pool.
Throughout both phases teams are awarded two points for a win, one for a no result and zero for a loss. There's no ties in T20 cricket - more on that below!

Who is competing in the 2024 Men's T20 World Cup?

The expanded tournament means that most of the big nations are involved in the tournament.
The 20 sides are split into the following four groups in the initial phase:
Group A: Canada, India (A1), Ireland, Pakistan (A2), USA
Group B: Australia (B2), England (B1), Namibia, Oman, Scotland
Group C: Afghanistan, New Zealand (C1), Papua New Guinea, Uganda, West Indies (C2)
Group D: Bangladesh, Nepal, Netherlands, South Africa (D1), Sri Lanka (D2)

Survivor Pool Details

1. Pick your Winner and runner-up of the tournament (Prize Pool 20000 Sats Minimum*)

  • You can pick your Winner and runner up for the tournament only once and you can change/adjust them at most 3 times but only in the league stages. Once the tornament enters the knockout stages, you can't change your choices.

2. Pick Your Winner every Match (Prize Pool 10000 Sats Minimum*)

  • You only get 3 entries to the pool.
  • You have to lock your pick before the game starts. You can't change your pick in between the games.
  • If you lose for 3 times, you are knocked out of the pool.
  • Missed Participation: It's only allowed for 3 matches throughout the tournament.
The prize is rewarded to the stacker/stackers who predicts the most number of winners throughout the tournament. You must survive till the final on June 29.

3. Pick the best batter/scorer/runs getter for the tournament. (Prize Pool 5000 Sats Minimum*)

This one doesn't need any rules, as simple as that. You can just guess the best batter with the most runs for the entire tornament and you get the prize.

Deadline June 2, at 01:30 BST right before the first match begins.

4. Pick the best Bowler for the tournament. (Prize pool 5000 Sats Minimum*)

***Just guess who is gonna take the most number of wickets in the entire tornament. No other rules

Deadline June 2, at 01:30 BST right before the first match begins.

Apart from the above mentioned pool, I've planned for some match specific pools as well. I'll come up with them later. They will also be much similar to these pools, albeit shorter versions.
In case any confusion or suggestions, just type a comment and feel free to ask.
Before signing off, I wanna say a huge and whole-hearted thanks to @grayruby for intriguing this pool idea about cricket here on ~stacker_sports.
Also I am grateful to @Undisciplined, @carlosfandango, @BitcoinAbhi, and others whose nym are missing but have shown their interest to join the pool.
At last, let me just tell you that there's no other game on the planet that's as amusing and entertaining (for its suspense and speculations) as Cricket is, so, if you are a sports lover like me, join the pool and enjoy.
Best Wishes to everyone on behalf of the gentlemen's game.
  • In case you've noticed a star above the Minimum that only means the prize can increase, if all the posts related to T20 World Cup accumulates more sats than the overall prize-sats.
Abi aayega na maza bidu!
Translation: it will be huge fun, buddy. I'm in. Congratulations! The pool is very good. Anyone can win. Best of luck, all stackers friends.
reply
US vs Canada in Texas is going to cause a civil war in @grayruby's family.
reply
If you don't hear from me after June 2nd you know I lost.
reply
Will @rubygray show up running victory laps?
reply
How? Someone's from US there? Eh!!!
reply
Not just the US, Texas (it's a whole other country, or so I hear).
reply
Are you gonna watch the match between US and Canada or India vs Pakistan?
reply
highly unlikely
reply
Will you watch on TV then?
reply
I do better in these contests when I know nothing about the sport.
I really only watch NBA and NFL and those are the contests I lose at most often.
reply
I don't watch NBA and NFL, but it's true knowledge of the games has nothing to with guessing about them. Anything can happen in games. For Cricket, it's fun that even if you've zero knowlege, you can often times be the winner because it produces most unexpected results.
don't mess with Texas
reply
Great job putting this together. Now I must do my research. I think @Public_N_M_E knows a bit about cricket. Maybe he would like to join?
reply
Thanks mate!.
reply
1 Tournament Winner Australia Runner Up India 2.
  1. Best batter Ryan Rickelton
Best Bowler Keshav Maharaj
reply
Amazing! Here comes the first submission from the lord of pools.
Winner and runner up are good picks.
But, I can't get why you went for South African batsman and bowler?
reply
I've been following those guys their whole career. I used to watch them in Pee Wee cricket. Okay, I'm lying.
reply
Haha! If you want to enter in some pee wee cricket academy I can tell you some of the best ones. 😜
Jokes apart let's talk a bit serious. As you can see this post hasn't got submissions from stackers. So, should I make a few different posts for different pools. Say, one post for Best Batsmen, one for best bowler, one for winner and runner up, one for match winner and there are so many other type of prediction pools forming up as idea in my mind. Kindly suggest.
reply
Oh, I'm no expert. You might want to split it up, but it's okay for me as is. I think it was okay to post this reminder in the Saloon, but maybe you should also post a reminder today or over the next few days in the territory.
reply
You're an expert for sure. Thanks for the suggestion. I will post reminder with some add on notes.
reply
Thanks, but take my word. I'm no expert. We just try things here and see if they work
reply
Sure! The reminder thing will definitely work. Also I will split up the predictions so as to make it a little more precise for everyone. This post can serve as a resource as it has so many details about the world cup.
Australia to win, England runners up.
Most runs: RG Sharma Most wickets: Shaheen Shah Alfreddi Most 6s: V Kohli Most 4s: J Buttler
reply
Sorry, but I've decided to open a pool specific posts with Bounty for different categories. I kindly request you to join the pool there.
I did it just for record keeping.
reply
reply
Thanks for your submission, noted.
reply
I am in. Better start the new post to take the predictions.
reply
Sure! Will post them.
reply
Where are we posting these predictions?
reply
You can post it here, or under any post (current or future) related to Cricket by me. Don't forget to tag my nym.
Also you need to read the rules, which are given in this post, for every prediction.
For winner and runner prediction you get only one chance. ...
reply
Perfect. Thank you

I'm in India but can't say that I know much about Cricket. What I know that folks are mad about IPL. Everyone talks about Cricket everytime. It's like religion.
Because, I just have to guess winner out of 20 teams, I can. Thanks @coinsreporter good 👍
